  1. I so appreciate your insightful articles. Each one resonates with truth I recognize. Your description of the circle gathering underscores the value of hearing and seeing each other for the sake of learning who we are, as individuals, and as a fellowship. Happy New Year!

  3. Dear Maude and Phil,
Loved the photo with the Mary Oliver quote, perfectly positioned beneath the couple walking off through the meadow – preceded, of course, by: . . . I don’t know exactly what a prayer is. I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down into the grass, . . . how to be idle and blessed, . . . which is what I have been doing all day. Tell me, what else should I have done? . . . Thanks for reminding us of that Summer Day.

    • Hi Emil,
Thank you for your comment. What better to do on the last day of the year than relax and enjoy!
      with love

  4. What a treat to listen to your audio, Phil. Not only is Your voice divine,l and there is depth in the content of what you shared, but you also used one of my favorite lines (that I offer to others) from Mary Oliver “what will you do with your one wild and precious life?”
    Tamy

    • Tamy, thank you! I have always enjoyed reading out loud. We went to another NYE brunch yesterday organized again by Lily, and again shared in a circle. What came up repeatedly were connection and community. I hesitate to extrapolate from my own personal journey to the world at large, but I think/hope that the adoration of the individual is being tempered by a realization of the importance of community.
Thank you for your lovely words. It is always a joy to be told that our writings are heard.
      Phil
